LBU Medical Units
The medical units include a Short Term Ambulatory Unit which provides an environment where offenders are able to begin the process of managing their daily activities and are evaluated for transition into an appropriate general population program. The Long Term Ambulatory Unit houses offenders who need a higher level of nursing care or assistance caring for themselves for an extended period which usually includes the elderly or physically disabled. There is also a Skilled Nursing Unit that cares for offenders who have an acute illness or may be recovering from surgery
